Hurricane Katrina and the Spirit of North Shore Beach
In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina left an indelible mark on North Shore Beach. It uprooted homes, reshaped lives, and tested the strength of our community. These photos capture the raw aftermath of the storm, not to dwell in devastation, but to honor the resilience, unity, and determination that rose in its wake. Neighbors supported one another, shared resources, and rebuilt with purpose. Today, our homes stand stronger, engineered to better withstand wind and tidal surge, and built on the foundation of hard-earned lessons and unwavering hope. These images remind us not only of what we endured, but of what we’ve become.
